Attitude or Aptitude?

Which is more important aptitude or attitude?
My experience says attitude. Over many years of employing and working with all manner of people I have found that great things can be accomplished by those with an open and enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn. Others may have been very skilled in some areas but nonetheless been very difficult to work with on account of either their apparent inflexibility or other issues of mistrust of authority and generally being argumentative or negative etc. Other have been barely skilled at all but have been a joy to work with because of their positive attitude.
I believe life should be fun and work should be fun also. Some jobs clearly are not fun on the face of it (removing toxic old paint from the underside of a yacht in freezing conditions perhaps?) but you can choose to make the best of it and find some humour in any situation or you can feel a victim of the harshness of your lot and struggle on grimly and sadly. Which sounds more fun?
So here is a tip from CJ’s book of rants. If you are feeling negative about what you are doing. STOP, breathe, wriggle your toes and ask yourself – How can I make this task fun? How can I change my attitude?
It could be as simple as pulling a silly face or standing on one leg perhaps even an explosive fart? Or maybe simply resolving to yourself that your deserve better and fully committing to achieving that – filling yourself with hope or rather letting hopefulness fill you.
ENJOY!
