Facing The Fear
1. June 2005

I have been wanting to do forwards on my windsurfer for more than 15 years. Early attempts in the late 1980’s resulted in a bruised head and a perforated ear drum. During the 90’s I only windsurfed sporadically and never felt confident enough to fling myself head long over my equipment.
Well these last couple of years I have been managing a lot more time on the water and getting increasingly frustrated with myself at my not daring to try this move. However now that I am here offering advice on how to manifest etc. I felt I should practice what I preach and really apply myself to the task of conquering my fears and daring to try loops.
Last Tuesday I past the fear barrier and had a bruising time going for a few. Then on Saturday I had another opportunity and a friend with a camera ready to capture the moment. Not many waves around on this day but it can still be done on choppy water.
You can see one of my crashes here but having studied this crash many times I am confident that I know what I am doing wrong and that I am close to success.
For the “hardcore” trick try this link.
Hooray!

You are SO close. Only a matter of time now. Can’t wait to see the Jackson version of the successful loop!
May the wind give you wings and the sea a soft landing.
Peace,
Fran
See you on the water…cheers…Martyn
