The Optimum Performance Expert
27. April 2005
Now there’s an important looking phrase – “Optimum Performance Expert”, sounds impressive doesn’t it?
There are many self help “gurus” and “OPE’s” working their stuff here on planet Earth but I am often a little suspicious of defining optimum and then claiming to be an expert on achieving it.
I feel we only really know what is optimum for us personally and that any expert we enlist for help and guidance needs to recognise that rather than sell their interpretation of optimum to us as the secret of happiness and fulfilment.
Why is it that many of these experts are also “mega” marketing and sales experts also?
Let us say I want to publish my fantastic new “Abundance Book”, sell loads of them, make loads of money and become recognised as a wise voice in this field. I could enlist the help of these marketing gurus who will then tell me many persuasive little tricks to snare my buyers, playing on their, fears, addictions and insecurities so that they buy my product and of course improve their lives as a result. Win-Win all very altruistic or not?
Sounds like fear based marketing for the most part. I wonder if there are any “love” based marketing experts to be found? Love is a stronger force that fear in my experience. How might a love based marketing guru work their magic?
Joe Vitale claims to be one but how do you really differentiate between “mega marketing” and “mega manipulation” and indeed does it really matter?
