Free Goal Setting Software - Updated

I’ve been reflecting on and reviewing my goal setting successes and “failures” lately and offer a few thoughts and considerations here as well as mildly revised templates that you can freely download.
Why set goals?
Well to be frank I’ve always thought that I didn’t, I simply got stuck in to whatever I felt needed doing most even if that meant doing very little, like taking a break. My pattern is that when a circumstance or situation has become so uncomfortable that I can no longer tolerate it is that I have been moved to make changes motivated by a vision of how life could be better.
Major examples include the end of my first marriage, starting my yacht painting business and subsequently learning to delegate far more effectively. I did not write these things down I simply reached a point where I thought “ugh, I’ve had enough of this, what can I do?” and then taken the next most inspiring step towards my new “goal”. So I was setting goals even if I did not think of it that way. They weren’t rigid “this by then” affairs but broad targets and desires for change and improvement.
So unless you are deeply motivated by rigidly defined end dates for your goals then I suggest you experiment with this more “airy fairy” approach and in particular consider how it is that you have actually achieved what you most value in your life so far and work with that. The idea of goal setting as an exercise is to raise your vibration to generate and attract enough hope and optimism to the extent that you are motivated enough to start and follow through with whatever you need to do and change in order to create your goal or dream. The goal is just a motivation, dream, ideal or destination that keeps you on the journey. Its the positive feelings that you experience as a result of this train to thought that lead you to further attract the circumstances, inspiration and coincidences that assist in the achievement of that goal or dream. In my experience the most important thing in achieving or creating anything is to actually start, just start anywhere with whatever you’ve got right NOW.
I have created a simple Excel workbook template that you can use to get started with some goal/dream setting. Its quite straightforward and can be tailored and modified as you wish. Some spreadsheet experience could be helpful but you can probably do just fine as is. Again, the important thing is simply starting!
It runs in Microsoft Office Excel but if you do not have MS Office you can download the excellent Open Office program for free and run it in that so there are no excuses.
Download it as a workbook here :Goals Template1.xls
Or if you prefer you can download it as a workbook template here :Goals Template1.xlt
Have fun, its supposed to be a fun exercise.
