You Deserve - You Judge
27. February 2006
Hi,
It has been awhile since I posted anything here as my life has been focused in other directions lately. However I offer a few thoughts now on the nature of how we deserve “abundance” and how we block it.
In my experience it is our personal sense of what we feel that we deserve that actually regulates what we receive. Hence people of low self-esteem settle for unhealthy relationships, jobs, food, lifestyles and of course poor financial health. This can be readily observed.
People with a strong sense of self esteem and deserved-ness often have hi-powered jobs, cars, partners etc. but some may also be ruthless, heartless, and cold. So called gangsters, for instance, are so certain of their “worth” that they will cheat, lie and kill in order to get what they want. Clearly that is not a healthy and balanced way of manifesting the things we desire in life unless your greatest desire is power of course but then why would you desire that? That criminal behaviour is a distorted sense of self esteem, formed (unconsciously) so as to absolutely avoid any felt sense of personal weakness.
I suggest that what is really needed is a peaceful, quiet, confident, known sense of self combined with a similar sense of connection to the unknown, the field, the Force or God. Any term you feel comfortable with will do. In this state you are aligned with life the universe and everything and as such life moves through you giving everything you need as you need it. Achieving this happy balance is the ongoing work of lifetimes but wherever you are on that path there is always room for progress.
Have you noticed how you judge and split from your desires and creations, how your attitudes effect your outcomes? Say you want a loving fulfilling relationship but you believe that men are from Mars, women are from Venus and you haven’t read the book. Not looking so hopeful then is it? Your prospective mate is distant and unfathomable from the outset because you hold onto an idea or belief that they are “from another planet”. Perhaps you want more money but in your mind money equates to hard work, greed, compromise, filth etc. Not looking too hopeful there either? Same problem, your judging and associating what you desire (money) with what you do not desire (extra hard work and being seen as a selfish “git” etc.).
It really is that simple. If you judge your desires negatively they will either not manifest at all or they will manifest in a negative way and thus confirm that you were right to believe what you believed in the first place. Tricky that.
The Universe always says Yes (thats the law of vibration) so your negative reality will be confirmed just as readily as your positive reality.
What can you do about this?
Work towards dreams and desires that excite you more than scare you. You have to be honest with yourself though. You may think that you want more money or time etc, but you can be certain a part of your consciousness is harbouring a fear or negative judgement of that result otherwise you’d have manifested it already.
Yes, but HOW?
Follow a stream of your thoughts and feelings that lift or inspire you. This is how affirmations work (or don’t). The key is to create your own. Its no good affirming something that simply triggers you to think “yer right, that’s a lie”. Use thoughts, affirmations and mantras that make you feel good not ones that generate feelings that you are kidding yourself and in denial.
So if you are very poor or overweight etc. and you affirm that “I am wealthy beyond measure” or “I have an athletic build” then it is unlikely that you are going to be able to sustain a belief and feeling of achieving that simply because that outcome seems “unreal” and too far out of reach. If you drop down a level or three and try “My finances are steadily improving” for instance, or “I am losing weight peacefully and comfortably” you may start to see some progress. The important thing is to generate your own affirmations and/or feelings of wellbeing rather than depending on those of others. You may find that following a line of questioning around “What would it be like if …..” might inpsire you more than affirmations. Enjoy your dreams. You need to become the conscious co-creator of your destiny and this is helped greatly if you draw inspiration from within yourself rather than relying too heavily on books, teachers, articles or workshops. These are all very useful but are nonetheless only tools to guide you to a higher level of personal self-trust, knowledge, actualisation and empowerment. You are building a healthy adult ego.
Along with this continual tracking and expanding of your positive feelings you need to watch your negative feelings with curiosity because these will also be surfacing repeatedly as you restructure the circumstances of you life. When you feel your “no” and your resistance or discomfort around what you are seeking, or with what is happening in your life then pause and simply question yourself lightly and curiously. What are you really feeling? What is here now? What are you afraid of? Is this really a likely outcome? How many other results might manifest? What do you really want? Etc. Be kind and patient with yourself, you are breaking old habits and that can be much more challenging if you push and judge yourself harshly.
Play! Enjoy!
