In A Quiet Moment by Chris Jackson

9. November 2005

In a quiet moment
The world may smile or scowl
Life may be frantic
Life may be calm
In a quiet moment

Thoughts rush on barely pausing for recognition
What is this endless noise disturbing my quiet
The deafening torrent of ramshackle dreams
Seems closer now through this calm
What calm is that then

Such intrusions fill my quiet
Will they ever fall silent
Resting as seeds awaiting germination
While peace beckons from the rapids of memories
Filed as me

Watching now I see calm in the confusion
A snow capped peak calm above
The valley of hurried clouds
In a quiet moment
I recognise the noise
